Dots Necklace Recycled Leather and Japanese Paper

The handmade Dots decoupage necklace by Mainichi features hand cut circles of recycled leather and beautifully patterned Japanese origami papers.

The paper circles are cut with a hole punch, and then sealed onto the back of recycled upholstery leather samples.  The leather is cut by hand into circles, and then each one is coated on both sides with approximately three to four layers of protective clear sealer.

The circles are stitched together using white Irish linen thread, and strung between each is a coloured glass bead.  The leather used for these circles has been sourced from discarded industry samples from end of run product lines.  The Japanese papers were collected by a friend who lived in Tokyo for several years.

Size: 42cm length from back of neck, each circle 2.5cm across

Colour:  White thread, charcoal grey leather, purple glass beads, white/purple/yellow paper
